Sisters/Daughters/Cousins Day!

Eager for some time away together, Amanda, Maddy, Cassy, and I decided to spend the day at the zoo, doing arts and crafts, and dining at Red Robin.  Of course, this was the day before Mother's Day, so the 'arts and crafts' we started were in honor of that -- but for Cassy and Maddy's Nanas and Grandmas.

Unfortunately, our first 'go' at making the craft was unsuccessful.  We chalked it up to being an inferior product, because the other attempts turned out beautifully -- and they were by a different brand/company. 

Realizing we weren't getting anywhere fast with this plaster, we decided to clean ourselves up and go out to lunch.  Eric had just mown the lawn, so he was able to join us.  We decided on Red Robin, since it's kid friendly and easy to get to -- with a lot of healthy options on their menu. 

After lunch, we dropped Eric off and headed to Reston Zoo for a day with the animals:

Maddy was such a big help the whole time, and even gave me a break by pushing Cassy in her stroller!

And of course, we took the obligatory 'riding the rhino' picture for Aunt Doots!

Afterwards we met up at my parent's house for an impromptu cookout.  A great way to end a great day!
